Is Morning Sun Enough For Succulents

Harnessing the power of the morning sun is key to keeping succulents healthy and vibrant. Direct light between 8 – 11am provides essential nutrients, boosts growth, and encourages outward signs of health.

But more than that, morning sunlight is indispensable for triggering flowering in some species as well as helping them form rich colors in their leaves thanks to its softer spectrum when compared to afternoon light.

For optimal benefit, succulents should be orientated towards a north-facing window or outdoors, which will provide bright but diffused rays that won’t stress delicate foliage. Keeping plants close helps them absorb more of the sun’s energy too.

But watch out; extended exposure can lead to burning leaf tips. To keep this from happening, adjust pot according to season so that plants follow the sun throughout the day and receive quality sunshine, not too much or too little.

Done right, your succulent will flourish with help from nature’s natural source: the morning sun!
