Do Succulents Like Morning Or Afternoon Sun

Sunlight is vital to the thriving success of succulents. Most do well in bright, indirect light but can tolerate direct sunlight for short spells. Location matters most; southern or western windows provide optimum illumination, whereas northern exposures lack intensity.

Start with mornings. A few hours of morning sun can be beneficial to growth, allowing colors to deepen and blooms to form. Some varieties occur naturally in warmer climes and may appreciate more time in the sun’s beams than their temperate counterparts.

As the afternoon wears on, succulents should have shade or filtered light. Over-exposure risks’ sunburns’ which can discolor foliage and even kill tender plants that are sensitive to heat. On hot days, a sheer curtain may do the trick while still providing glow – just keep an eye out! Instead of direct contact with sunlight during scorching mid-days, opt for leaf settings away from the window view.

Additional adjustments depend upon seasonality and weather: sunny places become duller during wintertime months, while overcast days might necessitate extra rays throughout seasonally appropriate periods of early afternoon down until sunset. Keeping up with the fluxes will ensure maximum satisfaction from bright, succulent companions!
